Kuch Khaas Keto Food Challenge – Episode 1 – Faizan’s Keto Biryani

Faizan’s Keto Biryani kicks off the Kuch Khaas Keto Food Challenge. A simple recipe that hits the right spot, especially when you are on a diet and craving that Biryani goodness without the Carb load it brings. Marinate as long as you can, cook for 20 minutes, and Voila! Biryani with a Keto twist.


  • 500 grams Cauliflower (Riced or fine shredded)
  • 1 Chicken [Cut to your preference.  We used Karhai Cut]
  • 2 tbsp Ghee (Because Keto)
  • 100 grams Yoghurt
  • 2 tbsp. Coriander Paste
  • 1 tbsp. or a handful of fresh mint
  • 1/2 tbsp. Tumeric (Haldi)
  • 1/2 tbsp. Red Chilli Powder
  • 1/2 tbsp. Coriander Powder
  • 1/2 tbsp. Garam Masala
  • 1/2 tbsp. Cumin Powder
  • 1/2 Lemon
  • Salt [To Taste]
  • 1 tbsp. Ginger Garlic Paste
  • Fried Onion [To Taste]
  • Biryani Masala [To Taste]
  • Melted Butter [At least 1 Tbsp.]


1. Marinate the chicken overnight (or for as long as you can) with ghee (1 Tbsp.), yogurt, coriander paste, fresh mint leaves, salt, ginger garlic paste and all the spices

2. Pour some ghee into the biryani pot

3. Layer the marinated chicken and then the cauliflower rice

4. Top with the fried onions, fresh mint, and coriander. Cook on a low flame for 20-25 minutes till the chicken is cooked through

5. Serve with a tablespoon of butter to up the fat content
